About Kerry Walford
I am an impressionistic landscape painter living in Cayuga, Ontario with my hubby & daughter. I paint and teach art classes in our historic 1840's brick farmhouse named Wildwood.
My paintings reflect the joy & aliveness that I experience while adventuring through rural Ontario. I gravitate to trees, country roads and farm fields, which I portray in a playful and impressionistic manner with an emphasis on light, colour and atmosphere.
I believe in living-in-the-moment, having gratitude, seeing beauty in cloudy skies, taking chances, dreaming big, making mistakes, dusting yourself off, and abiding by the law of attraction, you are what you think so why not think up a big, bright & playful landscape!
My goal as an artist is to spread the joy & aliveness I feel from my adventures, and moments of living in-the-moment.

About the Event
I invite you to join me on Thursday, April 18th, from 4-7pm, as we embark on a journey through the enchanting world of 'Boughs & Blossoms' at the esteemed Summer & Grace Gallery nestled in downtown Oakville. This solo exhibition, a celebration of nature's splendor, will grace the gallery's walls until May 19th.
The genesis of this collection stems from the depths of my affection for flowers and trees, entwined with cherished memories of my upbringing in Oakville. A town that holds the essence of my childhood, where the simplicity of summertime joy was palpable, and the streets echoed with the laughter of neighborhood children. It was within this idyllic setting that my passion for art first took root, nurtured by the unwavering support of my parents who fostered my creativity through summers at the Oakville Art Society.
As I reflect on those halcyon days spent climbing willow trees in Coronation Park and traversing the heights of Bronte Creek, I am reminded of the formative experiences that have shaped my artistic journey. While my path has led me beyond the borders of Halton, its influence remains steadfast in my artistic expression, an ever-present reminder of home.
Flowers, imbued with the memory of my father's tender care, hold a profound significance within this exhibition. Their vibrant hues serve as a testament to the enduring love and beauty that permeate my recollections of home. With each brushstroke, I endeavor to evoke the warmth of nostalgia and the enduring bond shared with those we love and those who have passed.
This exhibition marks a poignant milestone in my artistic odyssey, a culmination of years spent honing my craft and navigating life's meandering pathways. It is a testament to resilience, a testament to love, and a testament to the unwavering support of those who have shaped my journey.
As I stand on the threshold of this inaugural solo show, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude and anticipation. From the sun-dappled trails of Bronte Creek to the whispered promises of flowers in bloom, each canvas serves as a portal to the cherished moments that have sculpted my existence.
Join me as we embark on this journey of remembrance and revelation, where the delicate interplay of boughs and blossoms invites you to rediscover the beauty that lies within and without.
